Frequently asked questions

  • How long will the tattoo last?

    This varies person to person and will depend on various factors such as skin type, age, lifestyle, etc. you can expect to be due a top up anywhere between 12 and 24 months

  • Do I need a patch test?

    Yes. Even if you have had semi permanent make up previously by another artist you will need a patch test. This can be done in the salon at least 48 hours before the treatment or a kit with instructions can be mailed to you. 

  • What’s the difference between microblading and permanent brows?

    Microblading creates hair like strokes with a blade while a tattoo machine is used to create permanent brows. 


  • Who cannot have permanent makeup treatments?

    Anyone under 18 or anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding cannot have any permanent makeup up treatments.


    If you have eczema or any active skin conditions in the area you would like treatment.


    If you are under going chemotherapy or radiotherapy.


    Taking blood thinning medications.


    Taking steroids, Accutane or retinol products. (Accutane must be stopped at least 1 year before treatment and retinol to be stopped at least 4 weeks before).


    If you have active skin cancer.


    If you are concerned about any medical condition and undergoing a permanent makeup up treatment please consult a doctor before hand.

  • What should I avoid before treatment?

    Please avoid painkillers such as ibuprofen and aspirin and drinking alcohol  for 48 hours before and drinking coffee on the day of treatment as this will result in more bleeding, which will in turn cause swelling, redness and longer healing time.

  • Can you cover up old work by another PMU artist?

    This will depend on the work done. Please send photos to and explain what changes you would like to make. I can advise if it can be worked on or would require laser removal before any new treatment.
